The stonking Monster Hunter series is finally coming to Xbox in the west in the form of Monster Hunter World!
It seems to be loaded with new features, apparently doing away with the traditionally segmented maps, with no loading time between areas, and a real-time day/night cycle! The trailer (below) also shows off a new grappling hook, some fancy footwork such as running up walls and tossing items behind you as you run, and the return of clambering onto monsters to deal heavy blows on their weak points.
You can see other hunters coming to the aid, signalled by a flare, are carried by flying monsters! This is showing off the new drop-in assistance functionality as stated by Capcom. They’ve also stated that, for the first time, Japanese and Western players will be able to play together online!
As a huge fan of the series, I’m right jazzed to get my hands on this one! It can’t come soon enough, though I’ll have to wait until at least early 2018.
